Our People

Dr. Leslie PrichardPatent and Design Attorney
I am a UK Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney and a European Design Attorney and the founder of Culverstons, With over 18 years experience, I have worked both in industry, as an in-house patent attorney for the European business of a US multinational, and also for well-known IP attorney firms.

This irreplaceable experience of working in-house as a patent attorney for a business, and in private practice representing many different clients, has allowed me to develop a strong commercial understanding of the importance of intellectual property rights and the most effective way to use those rights to help grow and support a business.

Prior to entering the patent profession I served an electrical apprenticeship in the nuclear industry before going on to study electrical engineering at university. I then obtained a PhD on a project partially funded by a major US company to test the switching limits of magnetic recording media. Having had a somewhat unconventional early career path has me to become an excellent communicator and leader who can relate to, and work well with, people at all levels.

My main areas of experience include electronics, electrical, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, circuit protection devices and mechanical inventions. My clients include start-ups, SMEs and international companies.
